Enrolment

If you are living within the school zone please contact staff in the office to place your child on the pre-enrolment register. Feel free to pop in, send an email to reception@waterlea.school.nz or phone us on 09 636 4233. 

Please let us know:

• Child’s name
• Child’s gender
• Child’s date of birth
• Child’s main residential address
• Child’s Early Childhood Centre
• Parent/Caregiver name
• Parent/caregiver phone number
• Parent/caregiver email address

It is never too early to get in touch with us so please pre-enrol as soon as possible.

Please note: We are not taking any out of zone enrolments

When your child is nearly 5 we will contact you with further information about the enrolment process and transition to school. There is an online enrolment form to be completed and you will need to upload your child’s birth certificate, immunisation certificate/record and proof of address, if renting this would be a power bill or tenancy agreement, if living in your own home this would be a rates bill, power bill or sale and purchase agreement

Please note Waterlea now operates a cohort entry process for new entrants, which means that rather than children starting school the day they turn five, they now start in groups (at the start and middle of each term), once they have turned five.

Each cohort will have three school visits, typically on a Thursday or Friday, prior to starting school.

Cohort entry dates for 2025:

Term 1: 3 February, 10 March

Term 2: 28 April , 26 May

Term 3: 14 July, 18 August

Term 4: 6 October, 10 November
